JUST BOOKED

JUST BOOKED: FINOLHU AND VAKKARU

FINOLHU, A SEASIDE COLLECTION RESORT

Finolhu is the most amazing luxury island resort in the Maldives’ Baa Atoll, set across four islands and famous for its huge stretch of white sand and long sandbank, one of the longest in the Maldives. It’s got around 120+ villas, both on the beach and over the water (many with private pools), plus multiple restaurants, a beach club, spa, and loads of activities from snorkelling and diving to watersports and fitness classes. What makes it different is the vibe, it’s not just quiet luxury, it’s more of a “island playground” with a fun, social atmosphere, great food, and plenty going on, all set in a UNESCO-protected area full of incredible marine life.

VAKKARU MALDIVES

Vakkaru is one of those resorts that just feels like the Maldives. It’s set in the Baa Atoll, a protected area known for amazing marine life, so the water is full of fish, turtles and even manta rays at certain times of year .

The island itself is really lush and natural, with loads of palm trees and soft white sand, and it never feels crowded or overdone. The villas are spacious (on the beach or over the water, many with private pools), and everything has that relaxed, barefoot luxury vibe rather than anything too flashy. You’ve got great food, a beautiful overwater spa, snorkelling straight from the island, and plenty to do, but the best part is how calm and easy it all feels. It’s perfect if you just want to properly switch off and enjoy the Maldives at its best.

HANNAH IS BACK AND HERE'S WHAT SHE HAS TO SAY

OUR MALDIVES EXPERT IS BACK!

Hannah has just returned from the Maldives after the most amazing two weeks. If she had to describe each resort in just three words, this is what she’d say:

COMO Maalifushi – Tranquil, Private, Peaceful

Perfect if you’re looking to completely switch off and relax. It feels incredibly secluded as it’s the only resort in the atoll, and the marine life in the surrounding waters is incredible- every swim or snorkel feels special. Add in exceptional dining, padel on offer, and the famous COMO Shambhala spa, and it’s the perfect mix of relaxation and wellbeing.

Conrad Maldives – Dive, Dine, Discover

A naturally beautiful island with so much to do, whether you want to relax or stay active. The marine life is amazing, there are plenty of dining options to try, and lots of watersports on offer too. The staff are so warm and welcoming, which really gives it that home-away-from-home feel. It’s a brilliant Maldives option for couples, families, or anyone wanting a bit of everything.

Niyama Maldives - Play, Surf, Unwind

Perfect for families, with plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained. It’s also home to some of the Maldives’ best surfing, offering a rare luxury-meets-wave experience. With standout dining options and newly refurbished spaces, the resort feels fresh, vibrant, and unique!
