June–October is the sweet spot for both safari and beach, with dry weather, the Great Migration river crossings, and calm Zanzibar seas all happening at once.
Can't travel then? January–February is a brilliant alternative - calving season on the Serengeti and sunny skies on the island, with far fewer crowds.
